Super Duty leads the pack by moving forward. That’s why Ford Super Duty® for 2021 features the available 7.3L OHV gas V8 and the available Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel. Impressive Super Duty gas and diesel power ratings combine with rugged frame and chassis engineering to achieve strong numbers in every category of hauling and towing capability, including best-in-class horsepower, best-in-class GVWR, best-in-class payload and the best 5th-wheel and conventional towing in its class.
Super Duty® for 2021 features strong performance with an expanded line of available engines. There’s the available 7.3L gas V8 with best in its class power ratings as well as the available 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel that develops maximum torque at 1,600 RPM.
The standard 6.2L gas V8 in the F-250 is teamed with the Ford TorqShift® -G 6-speed automatic. Experience responsive power delivery and seamlessly smooth shifting. The SelectShift® feature includes Progressive Range Select (for overdrive lockout) plus Full Manual. Tow/Haul minimizes gear hunting uphill; downhill, it prevents upshifting and gaining speed, and reduces reliance on brake pressure to slow the vehicle.
The available 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel incorporates a driver-activated engine-exhaust brake. It restricts the turbocharger’s exhaust flow to generate back pressure and slow the vehicle, providing greater control while travelling downhill, regardless of vehicle load or road grade. Also, because the engine brake helps minimize having to apply pedal pressure, brake fade and lining wear are reduced, lowering the cost of maintenance. Three settings are available: On, Off, and Auto. The Auto setting modulates engine braking as needed to help maintain the speed you want based on accelerator and brake pedal use.
The 7.3L OHV PFI gas V8 engine in the 2021 Ford Super Duty® is the most powerful gas engine in a full-size pickup and the largest V8 in its class, with best-in-class horsepower and torque to prove it. The top-of-the-line gas engine generates the best gas torque in its class of 475 lb.-ft at 4,000 rpm along with best gas horsepower in its class of 430 horsepower at 5,500 rpm. Experience diesel-like power in a gas engine with the 2021 Ford Super Duty.
The 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel engine is the most powerful engine ever built in its class, and the third generation is stronger, quieter and more efficient than ever before. With available 1,050 lb.-ft. of torque at 1,600 rpm and best-in-class 475 horsepower at 2,600 rpm, the 6.7L Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel engine on the 2021 Ford Super Duty® reigns supreme in both categories, ensuring you have the power you need to get the job done.
Ford Super Duty® offers features that help make every hard day on the job easier. Available running boards, in regular and extended lengths, assist in getting in and out of the cab as well as accessing the front of the pickup bed. An optional power-deployable version extends automatically when the door is opened and retracts when closed. And there’s integrated tailgate step with tailgate assist. The step and handle are stowed inside the tailgate and can be easily accessed when needed. Another tailgate feature is remote release with power locking that opens the tailgate with the key fob. When activated, the tailgate gradually lowers to a flat position.
The Super Duty® has the only high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body in its class. Aluminum alloy is substantially lighter than the previous body, yet it’s remarkably strong. It’s also more dent-and-ding resistant and not subject to red rust corrosion. Use of aluminum alloy allowed some of the weight savings to be reinvested where it matters the most, especially in the frame that’s the foundation of strength and toughness.
The components of the four-wheel anti-lock brakes in the F-450 model are the largest in their class — and for a very important reason. You want them to provide the sure stopping power you expect when you’re out on the job hauling tons of whatever it is that’s riding along with you behind the cab.
To help you protect the inside of your Super Duty cab, models with standard floor carpeting can be outfitted instead with durable vinyl flooring. Vinyl flooring is available on King Ranch, Platinum and Limited models. Or you can opt to protect your carpeting with available all-weather heavy-duty vinyl floor mats designed with deep and raised ridges to catch and hold snow, slush or mud. For pickup bed protection, custom-designed, heavy-duty rubber mats are available. Or go with Tough Bed® — a factory-installed spray-in bedliner providing a watertight seal that helps resist rust. Tough Bed includes a tailgate guard, black bed tie-down hooks and bed attachment bolts.
Driver-assist technologies are about supplementing your driving skills. They can alert you to a potential collision and help you react possibly before it can occur. With this advanced technology, you can feel in command when you’re on the road.
No matter where your job takes you, on or off the road, Ford puts you quickly and easily in touch through in-vehicle touchscreen and voice-activated technology as well as smartphone apps. Connect with people, navigate to a destination, get useful trip information — just about anytime, anywhere.
The available wireless charging pad accepts a wide range of devices with built-in charging capability. Simply set your phone with charging side down on the pad, located in the centre console, while the vehicle is either running or in accessory mode. When your phone is fully charged, the unit will maintain it even while you’re streaming music or making a call through the available SYNC® 3 system.
